About High Mountain Strings

Suzanne Nadeau Porter, founder and director of High Mountain Strings, has performed in hundreds of weddings in the Roaring Fork Valley. She is responsible for the booking and coordination of every performance and performs as a violinist in the ensembles. High Mountain Strings consist of dynamic and professional musicians from the Aspen to the Grand Junction area.

Born in New-Brunswick Canada, Suzanne holds a Solo Performance & Chamber Music Degrees from the Conservatory of Music in Montpellier, France, and the Quebec Conservatory of Music. Winner of the concerto competition at the University of Ottawa.. Her numerous professional engagements include Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, La Sinfonietta (broadcast on Radio Canada), The Phantom of the Opera orchestra member in Ottawa... Suzanne has been teaching violin for over twenty-five years. She is also a member of the Grand-Junction Symphony Orchestra performing as a violinist and violist under Master Conductor Charles Latshaw. She performs in many recitals as a solo violinist/violist and in various chamber music groups. Although classically trained, Suzanne also enjoys playing various style of musicians and is a member of Americana/Bluegrass five piece woman band “The Queen Bees” and the Stone Kitchen Band. She also played numerous weddings in the Aspen area with Wendy Larson founder of the “Silver City Strings”.
